Wood

Ballistol Universal Oil cares for and protects wooden parts. Whether it's decking, garden tables or deck chairs, Ballistol Universal Oil penetrates deep into natural wood without sealing its pores. This protective layer makes the wood more resistant and shields it effectively from weather exposure. Ballistol Universal Oil meets the US Food & Drugs Legislation standard for food-contact use (21 CFR 178.3570) , making it suitable for use on machinery that comes into contact with food. It can also be used to care for kitchen cutting boards on this basis. It also restores a silky-matte shine to wooden surfaces and brings out the natural grain (previously treated wood may need light sanding first). Apply the oil evenly with a cloth - then you can knock on wood with confidence.

Stainless Steel

Ballistol Universal Oil brings stainless steel kitchen surfaces to a shine. Cooking becomes effortless, and the clean-up afterwards is made much easier with Ballistol Universal Oil. It dissolves dried-on grease splashes, and new dirt is easier to remove.[Ballistol Universal Oil is food-safe (see evidence under "Wood" above) and therefore ideally suited to surfaces that come into contact with food. It also neutralises weak acids such as hand perspiration or vinegar, protecting stainless steel surfaces from corrosion. Simply put some Universal Oil on a cloth and wipe down the surfaces and your kitchen will shine like a professional one.

Blinds & Shutters

Ballistol Universal Oil cares for blinds, roller shutters and window frames. It removes dirt (e.g. fly dirt) while leaving a protective film on wood or plastic surfaces. Simply wipe a cloth soaked in Ballistol Universal Oil over the blind slats, window frames and shutters. This makes them more weather-resistant against moisture and sun exposure, and plastic and wood surfaces regain their shine. Window fittings, hinges and door frames also benefit from a few drops of Universal Oil - so you can throw open the windows with confidence any time.

Leather

Ballistol Universal Oil cleans, cares for and preserves leather. Whether it's a saddle, car seats or your favourite boots, our Universal Oil restores a silky-matte shine to leather goods, just like new. It cleans smooth leather, removes water stains and even combats mould. Even brittle leather becomes supple again, and the surface becomes more weather-resistant to humidity and sunlight. For fans of the worn look: suede develops a natural sheen over time. If you want to create this patina yourself, treat it with Universal Oil. Simply dampen a cotton cloth with Universal Oil and rub it into the leather - grab your favourite pieces and enjoy them for longer.

Motorcycle Care

Ballistol Universal Oil protects and cares for motorcycles. During the riding season, and especially before winter storage, treat your pride and joy to some care with our multi-talented oil. It dissolves dirt, residue on the rims and even lubricant build-up on the swingarm. It also conditions the leather seat and protects chrome parts from surface rust. Cylinders, combustion chambers and the exhaust also benefit from a good dose of Ballistol Universal Oil. Spray the oil directly onto the motorcycle, or alternatively use products from the BALLISTOL Technology series or Cleaner series - so you're ready to open the throttle again next season.

Lawnmowers

Ballistol Universal Oil gets electric and petrol-powered lawnmowers running smoothly again. It forms a rust-protective film and cares for wheel axles, shafts and Bowden cables. First disconnect the mower from the power supply or remove the spark plug connector, carefully remove coarse grass debris, then wipe the blade and metal surfaces with a cloth soaked in Ballistol Universal Oil. Then oil the joints and bearings. Alternatively, our BALLISTOL Technology series is ideally suited for this - so your lawnmower is back in the green zone.

Locks & Cylinders

Ballistol Universal Oil cares for and preserves locks. Sticking lock cylinders are nerve-wracking and can get expensive. Whether it's a bicycle, door or padlock, thanks to its extremely low surface tension, Universal Oil creeps into even the finest locking mechanisms and gets them moving smoothly again. Unlike inferior oils, it does not turn resinous and won't cause long-term sticking. It protects against rust and prevents car locks from freezing shut. Give a short spray of Universal Oil, or alternatively Ballistol Cylinder Spray, into the keyhole, and you can shut the door on lock problems for good. Note: locks that have been treated with graphite should generally not be treated with oil afterwards.

Bicycles

Ballistol Universal Oil protects bicycle parts. Our all-rounder gives any rattling old bike frame a new shine. Your bike will not only look good again — the thin oil film also protects the bike from rain, snow, road salt and more, and even makes it harder for dirt to stick, reducing rust. Our Universal Oil also lubricates the chain, sprocket and Bowden cables, and keeps the saddle, handlebar grips and seals supple. Alongside Universal Oil, we recommend the BALLISTOL Bike Care series - so it's the tyres that squeal, not your bike.

Garden Tools

Ballistol Universal Oil cares for and preserves garden tools such as hedge trimmers, pruning shears, rose shears, spades and more. Developed to care for metal and wooden surfaces, it also has a pH of 8 to 8.5, allowing it to neutralise weak acids such as plant sap or hand perspiration. It even tackles tree resin, water stains and woodworm, and is biodegradable (60% per OECD 301B [70 days]). It also keeps hinges and joints moving freely and coats metal parts with a rust-protective film. Simply spray the garden tool or apply the oil with a cotton cloth - keeping your tools in good shape and turning garden work into a pleasure.

Skin Care

Ballistol Universal Oil cares for skin, as does Neo-Ballistol Home Remedy. As far back as 1904, our Universal Oil was also developed for wound care, and it still cares for stressed skin today. Thanks to its base of medically pure white oil, it has been certified "Very Good" by Dermatest. Its valuable ingredients care for and protect the skin. Simply apply to affected areas and let it absorb. Rubbing it in before work prevents dirt from being absorbed into the skin and makes hands easier to clean afterwards — so you can skip the gloves for garden work.

Dog Paws

Ballistol Universal Oil cares for and protects dogs' paws from snow, road salt and grit. Universal Oil forms a slightly alkaline protective layer over the paw pads, which neutralises road salt and prevents ice balls from forming in longer fur. Its essential oils leave even dry, cracked pad skin supple and resilient again. Simply rub Ballistol Universal Oil, or alternatively Ballistol Animal Pet Care Oil, over the whole paw and massage a few drops into the pads. Both oils are based on medically pure white oil and are safe even if your dog occasionally licks them off - High paw!

Fishing Rods

Ballistol Universal Oil cares for fishing rods. It protects the rod from rust and salt water, and even prevents rod rings from icing over. It also keeps the handle area (cork, leather or foam grip) supple. Ballistol Universal Oil is food-safe and biodegradable (see above). That said, we recommend not letting larger amounts of oil get directly into the water. Landing nets and tools also benefit from a little care. Wipe the rod with a cloth soaked in Ballistol Universal Oil, then use our precision oiler to lubricate swivels, the reel handle and ball bearings — but leave the drag/brake untreated! Alternatively, use our BALLISTOL Technology range - so you're ready for your next big catch.

Outboard Motors

Ballistol Universal Oil is ideal for winterising outboard motors. Removable boat engines are often used only seasonally and need to survive a long storage period. That makes proper winter preparation all the more important — made easy with our Universal Oil. To protect an electric or petrol-powered outboard motor from corrosion, simply spray it with Ballistol Universal Oil, or alternatively Ballistol Premium Rust Protection Oil - so you can set sail again with ease next spring.

Car Doors

Ballistol Universal Oil prevents rubber seals on car doors, windows and the boot from freezing shut. Seals are especially prone to becoming brittle or cracked in cold weather. Universal Oil keeps the material flexible even at low temperatures and protects against moisture ingress, weather exposure and freezing. Rub the oil-resistant car rubber seals with a cloth soaked in Universal Oil, or alternatively use Ballistol Silicone Oil - so getting into your car stays easy, even in winter.

Winter Sports Equipment

Ballistol Universal Oil cares for and protects skis, sledges and ice skates. To keep everything running smoothly on the slopes, winter sports equipment should be properly maintained. Universal Oil protects ski, sledge and skate blades from rust and keeps ski and snowboard bindings moving freely. It can even serve as an emergency day wax if you've forgotten to bring your own. It also cares for sledge wood and skate leather at the same time. Simply wipe a cloth soaked in Universal Oil carefully over blades, skis and sledges, and add a drop to the bindings - then head for the slopes!
